One glass for most heavy or high-alcohol drinks. The small presentation surface ensures that the wine or spirit does not become overly concentrated, so that heavy aroma elements are released in a nuanced manner.
Due to the glass having a narrow opening, the nose cannot go very far, which prevents the sensing mucous membranes from receiving a burst of alcohol.
