Description

The Karambit is a very functional knife, born in the Indonesian archipelago with roots in Malaysia and the Philippines. Its use is documented, as a work tool and as a pocket knife, since the 11th century. Although it is said that it was "imported" into the United States in the late nineteenth century, its official introduction dates back to the mid-twentieth century, while its popularity as a martial arts knife (disciplines such as Indonesian Penack Silat, Malaysian Bursilat and the Philippine Kali) began in the decade from 1970 to 1980. The Karambit is identified as three tools in one: utility knife, martial art knife and self defense knife if necessary. There is a clip on the back of the handle.
